So we’re supposed to be around 25,000 words for NaNoWriMo. I’m at 3,160. It’s not looking good for getting this completed on schedule. According to their calculator, I should be done sometime in July. I’ve never been much good with writing schedules, so that’s actually not that surprising.
Evidence? I wrote most of that yesterday and absolutely nothing today. What did I do today? I got caught up on Cracked.com articles I hadn’t read and watched the Big Bang Theory on-set flash mob video (both the short and full versions). I also spent a good chunk of time reading about Go On because episode air dates weren’t matching up with what I thought they were.
Normally I wouldn’t have mentioned any of that to anyone, but I’m hoping that laying it all out there will be enough to shame myself into writing again.
In other news, I finally feel comfortable announcing that Kattywompus Press will be publishing Boy Meets Girl, a chapbook of my short prose, in Spring 2013. I actually signed the contract a while ago, but since we didn’t have a release date even vaguely tuned in, I didn’t want to jinx it. I feel pretty good about a season, though. That’s close enough for me.
Now, back to “writing.”
